Senior Legal Counsel

What are you going to do now?

As a key player in our Corporate Development and Legal team, you will contribute your legal skills and M&A expertise to major projects that align with Cosun's ambitious Unlock 30 growth agenda. Your role will involve: 

  • Advise and lead from a legal perspective M&A, venturing, partnerships, large growth investments and other strategic initiatives;
  • Conduct legal due diligence;
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations;
  • Manage legal risks effectively; 
  • Collaborate with external lawyers and advisors. 

Join a dynamic team of experienced professionals, working side by side with Cosun’s General Counsel and reporting directly to the Director Corporate Development, you will engage with stakeholders at all levels, including the Cosun Executive Board. You will gain deep insights into our organization and ample opportunities for further development, including pathways to senior business roles. Your contributions will be recognized, and you will have the chance to take the next steps in your career within Cosun's senior leadership in the business groups or in one of the functions. 

What are you taking with you?
  • At least 7-10 years’ experience as a lawyer in a top-tier law firm and/or corporate counsel in a commercial organization, particularly in commercial/contract/M&A, preferably also intellectual property;
  • Strong analytical skills, able to assess legal risks and commercial interests;
  • Experienced negotiator, independent, with integrity, clear and convincing in communication;
  • Result-oriented with an eye for detail, but able to distinguish main issues from side issuesl;
  • Team player, hands-on mentality and flexible;
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Procedure
  1. Getting to know you

    If you are a good fit for the vacancy, the HR Specialist Recruitment will contact you. This is to get an initial impression and to answer any questions from both sides.

  2. The first conversation

    During the first interview you will come into contact with your potential future manager and of course someone from HR will be present to get to know you better as a person.

  3. Case

    A case may be part of the procedure. This will look at how you would deal with certain practical situations. Often the case can be made from home and sometimes you make the case before the start of the 2nd interview on location.

  4. The second conversation

    How good you are still in the procedure! During this conversation we will go into more detail. In addition, these people also want to get to know you a little better, so that we know for sure that we have a good match.
