Are you currently pursuing a Master's degree in Food Technology, Water Technology or a related field? Do you have a keen interest in water management within the food production industry? If so, Duynie in Nijmegen has an exciting internship opportunity for you!
🚀 Your mission: You will investigate and develop innovative solutions for optimizing water reuse in BSG separation plants, focusing on food safety and process efficiency.
What will you do? At BSG separation plants, water usage presents significant challenges, particularly concerning food safety and the accumulation of products. When water is extracted from the production process, it retains certain compounds. If reused, there is a risk of crystallization, which can impact the quality of the final product and food safety standards.
This internship offers a chance to gather data and insights into these processes and work on innovative solutions. The ideal candidate would have a background in food technology and process engineering, allowing us to explore viable strategies for optimizing water reuse. During your internship you will be an intern within our Technical Team and supervised by our Project Manager Sebastian. There will also be overlap with our R&D department as well as with other departments within Duynie.
The ideal candidate would be pursuing a Master's in one of the following fields in Food Process Technology, Water Technology, or Environmental Technology. Extensive knowledge about membrane technologies, separation processes and product accumulation in water recycling will be very relevant to the internship and the research you will be conducting.
What are you taking with you?
We are looking for an intern with the following characteristics:
- You are pursuing your masters in the are of Food Technology Water Technology, or a related field;
- You are proficient in English, both in spoken and written communication;
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and service-oriented;
- Hands-on mentality with strong social skill;
- You are eligible to do an internship in the Netherlands and already live in the Netherlands.

Procedure
- Getting to know you
If you are a good fit for the vacancy, the HR Specialist Recruitment will contact you. This is to get an initial impression and to answer any questions from both sides.
- The first conversation
During the first interview you will come into contact with your potential future manager and of course someone from HR will be present to get to know you better as a person.
- Case
A case may be part of the procedure. This will look at how you would deal with certain practical situations. Often the case can be made from home and sometimes you make the case before the start of the 2nd interview on location.
- The second conversation
How good you are still in the procedure! During this conversation we will go into more detail. In addition, these people also want to get to know you a little better, so that we know for sure that we have a good match.
